Basement finishing
TrueBuilt Remodeling finishes basements and walkout lower levels — framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, egress windows, and trim.
Representative design direction for homeowner planning conversations.
Water first, finish second
We handle moisture and drainage before any finish work begins. That means grading, gutters, and downspout discharge outside before anything expensive happens inside, because water management outside is almost always cheaper and more durable than waterproofing inside.
Paneling applied directly to block in the 1970s is the most common thing we remove. It traps moisture against the wall and it has to come out before anything goes back.
Egress is not optional
Any basement room used as a bedroom requires a compliant egress window and well. It's a requirement, it's a meaningful cost, and it's routinely left out of low bids. We include it when a bedroom is planned.
