The fastest way to make a siding bid cheap is to install new material over the old without looking at what is underneath. In houses of the age common in this area, there is almost always some rot — at the sill, around original window openings, or wherever flashing was wrong.

Covering it traps the problem behind new siding and turns a thirty-year job into an eight-year one. We remove the existing siding, inspect and repair the sheathing, correct the house wrap and flashing details, then install.

That is why our bid is sometimes higher. It's also why we're still standing behind the work when the cheap one has failed.

How much does siding replacement cost?

Cost depends on wall area, stories, access, tear-off, sheathing condition, flashing, trim, soffit and fascia, insulation strategy, and material choice. The proposal identifies known repairs and explains how concealed sheathing damage will be documented and approved if discovered.

My siding is only a few years old and it's already failing. Why?

Most commonly because it was installed over damaged sheathing, or with incorrect flashing and house wrap. TrueBuilt Remodeling removes existing siding and inspects and repairs the sheathing before installing new material, which is the difference between siding that lasts decades and siding that fails early.

Do you replace soffit and fascia too?

Yes. TrueBuilt Remodeling handles soffit, fascia, and trim as part of a siding job rather than as a separate project, because that's where most water intrusion actually starts.
