Footings decide everything

We set footings below frost line. That single detail determines whether a deck stays level through freeze and thaw cycles or starts racking within a few seasons. It is also the first thing a cheap bid skips, because it's underground and nobody sees it.

Everything else on a deck can be repaired. A bad footing means starting over.

Resurfacing — where the substructure is sound, new decking and rails over the existing frame at a fraction of a rebuild.

Repair — failed boards, loose rails, rotted posts, footings that have moved.

How much does a deck cost?

Deck cost depends on size, height, access, demolition, footings, ledger or freestanding design, stairs, guards, framing repairs, and the chosen decking and railing. TrueBuilt measures the site and writes those items into the proposal instead of advertising a misleading one-price-fits-all number.

Can my deck be resurfaced instead of replaced?

Often yes. If the frame and footings are sound, replacing decking and rails costs substantially less than a rebuild. TrueBuilt Remodeling assesses the substructure during the estimate.

Composite or treated lumber?

Treated costs less up front and needs refinishing every few years. Composite costs more and needs almost nothing. On a lake property with heavy sun and water exposure, composite usually pays for itself. TrueBuilt Remodeling will price both so you can decide.
